  1. Start at ABINGDON SAINT HELEN

  2. From Saint Helen’s main porch go straight ahead into West Saint Helen’s Street for SALVATION ARMY HALL on right (0.1 miles)

  3. Continue to T-Junction with High Street and go left into one-way system, keeping to nearside lane. (After c.30 yards note disused Congregational Church on right at The Square). At Pedestrian lights continue forward along Ock Street for c50 yds for BAPTIST CHURCH (large forecourt) on right (0.2)

  4. Continue down Ock Street and take first right, signed Abingdon School, into Conduit Road for TRINITY METHODIST and UNITED REFORM CHURCH (0.2)

  5. Continue a few yards to crossroads and go left into Park Road for SAINT MICHAEL & ALL ANGELS (0.2)

  6. Continue for c 100 yards to crossroads and turn right into Park Crescent. At top of slope, opposite Albert Statue, go left and after c. 50 yards go right at traffic barrier into Faringdon Road. Continue to min-roundabout and go left into Wootton Road. Continue for c 0.4 miles to major traffic lights near Abingdon College and turn right into Northcourt Road. Continue for c. 0.6 miles, passing Spread Eagle Public House on right, and at parade of shos turn right into forecourt of CHRIST CHURCH (1.5)

  7. Continue to traffic lights at Boundary House Public House and cross Abingdon to Oxford road (staggered crossroads) into Appleford Drive for ALL SAINTS METHODIST CHURCH on right (0.2)

  8. Continue Appleford Drive. Shortly after Chilton Drive on right, at break in houses, turn right, through barriers, onto cycle path. Follow cycle path around two sides of playground to the barriers diagonally opposite and cross Lindsay Drive for PEACHCROFT CHRISTIAN CENTRE straight ahead (0.4)

  9. Return to Boundary House lights and go left onto Oxford to Abingdon Road. Continue until junction with Radley Road for OUR LADY & ST EDMUND (1 Mile)

  10. Continue Oxford Road into Vineyard. At lights, signed District Council and Superstore, go left into Abbey Close and then first right (but still named Abbey Close).

  11. When road swings to left facing Guildhall go under archway on right for SAINT NICHOLAS (0.4) (Before turning under archway, note Abbey House council building on your left and the gateway to the right of it for access to Abbey Gardens and the ruins of Abingdon Abbey)

  12. From Saint Nicholas cross Bridge Street and follow East Saint Helen’s Street to the left of County Hall to return to Saint Helen’s. (0.2)
